Wedding Stationery used to be ultra formal, bland, boring and expensive. The great news is that unless ultra formal and white is what you’re looking for, you can now choose many other options. Stationery for your wedding can range from everything to Save the Dates, bridal shower invites, engagement party invitations, thank you cards, menus, programs, place cards, wedding announcements and the actual wedding invitation set! And with the variety of styles, papers, inks and embellishments these days, it’s still safe to say that wedding stationery can still be fairly expensive. But that doesn’t have to be the case.

Big Dreams, Small Budget

If you have big wedding dreams but a small wedding budget, consider creating your stationery yourself. Decide what stationary you actually need for your wedding. The wedding invitation is a given, but you may not need a menu card at every place setting, unless this is something that you really desire. Then take some time to decide how you want your wedding stationery to look and feel. Have you always wanted something formal and elegant? Or is your affair more laid back? Then casual and fun may be more appropriate. After you decide this, create a few samples! You may be able to save substantially on your wedding by creating your own stationery.
